The spin off restaurant of Brother Hubbard, Sister Sadie has a much more preferable location right at the end of Camden Street. With a lovely outdoor seating area for when it's sunny and a bright indoors, it's a fab spot for a midweek brunch.
It's close to impossible to find a place during the week that does a good brunch so we really couldn't recommend this place enough. With a selection of dishes to suit everyone, you won't be left feeling disappointed!
To start we ordered a cappuccino and prosecco, the coffee was great and with the prosecco at €6.95 a glass we think it more than reasonably priced.
For mains we ordered the potato and chorizo salad and the middle eastern hummus plate. The potato salad was delicious and filling, served with a poached egg and lemon vinaigrette. The lemon vinaigrette was quite strong but it complimented the chorizo and potato perfectly!
The middle eastern hummus plate was just as great. With two perfectly toasted pieces of sourdough with freshly made hummus, a tomato and cucumber salad, two poached eggs and a side of chorizo, it was a perfectly satisfying brunch dish.
To finish we ordered the infamous brownie which came with raspberry cream and coconut on top. The brownie itself was amazing- perfectly gooey inside and crispy on the outside, but we probably could have done without the coconut and cream. That being said - it most definitely lived up to the name. The brownie changes regularly so be sure to ask what the special is if you're ordering it.
The bill came to a very reasonable €20 each. All in all, we couldn't recommend this place enough. We both agree that it's probably one of our favourite brunch places in town. The food is fresh, the portions are generous and the music is great. And to add to that, they've a great sense of humour!
