WHITE FRIAR GRILL
Once rated the best brunch in Dublin, White Friar Grill is located near Georges Arcade on Aungier Street. With its red canape and small seating area, it has a very intriguing and eye catching exterior. The inside is busy and loud, with music playing in the background its the perfect setting for a special brunch. We'd definitely recommend booking in advance as tables fill up early - and note for brunch the bookings are an hour and a half sittings so you may not have the table for any longer.
To begin we ordered two Watermelon Bellinis, and one mint lemonade. The Bellinis were amazing and fresh, and at 8 euro a cocktail we thought they were very averagely priced.

We tried the gambas benedict, huevos rancheros and the chicken ciabatta. The gambas were quite small and not very tasty to be brutally honest. The guacamole also needed salt, and was not the most flavoursome. Although for 10.95 it was also served with a generous portion of delish chunky chips.
The huevos rancheros were a very generous portion of fried eggs with beans, chorizo, jalapeños and guacamole all served on grilled tortilla. Perfectly satisfying, they're also served with a side of homemade fries and priced at a reasonable 10.50.
For dessert we tried the infamous belgian chocolate waffles - and we were most definitely not disappointed. It could almost be said that they were the best part of the meal. Perfectly fluffy inside and crispy on the outside, served with ice-cream, cream, caramelised banana; they were the PERFECT end to brunch.
The bill altogether came to 60 euro for 3 people, just over 20 euro each including a cocktail. The earlybird dinner is also something to definitely consider - two courses for 19.50.
A restaurant which was once voted 'the best brunch in dublin' hasn't moved to keep pace with newer and stiffer competition. Although it was a good meal, if we're to be completely honest there are some better brunch spots to be visited in Dublin. The waffles, however, are a must try for those with a sweet tooth!
